🌽Glass Gem Corn is the most beautiful corn in the world.💎🌟

Extremely rare, this unique strain of flint corn was developed by Carl Barnes, who, before his passing, gave these seeds to friends who shared his passion in gardening.

These seeds come directly from our small farm here in Fallsington, PA. We have been growing and breeding corn varieties for years and it has been a pleasure to work with Glass Gem. We have worked to improve the glassiness and color variation in this variety and can now boast 3 different strains including the Glass Gem, Rubies/Amber and Pearls/Sapphires.

Glass Gem is a flint corn which can be made into a decent popcorn or ground into flour. We think it's so beautiful to simply look at.

Sow seeds outdoors 1" deep after danger of frost has passed. You should only need to plant 1-2 seeds per space about 8" apart. For good pollination and full ears, plant in blocks of 3-6 rows instead of one long row. Corn is a heavy feeder and does best in well-drained fertile soil with plenty of water. Each Glass Gem corn ear produces displays gorgeous and different colors.

🪴Planting Method:

1.Depending on the temperature, the germination time will also be affected. When spring corn is sown, the ground temperature is low, and the germination time of corn will reach more than ten days; the average temperature reaches about 20-30 ℃, and the germination time is relatively fast. If the water and oxygen are sufficient, it can germinate in about 3 days.



2. The planting density of 80 x 25cm or 75 x 30cm should be used for cultivation, which is expected to obtain high qualified ear rate and high fresh fruit ear yield.



3. The amount of fertilizer needs to be increased or decreased according to the fertility of the soil in the field. Usually, N: P 2 O 5 : K2O=120~150: 90: 60kg/ha is appropriate. The full amount of phosphate fertilizer and potassium fertilizer and half amount of nitrogen fertilizer are used as base fertilizer, and the rest Half the amount of nitrogen fertilizer should be used as top dressing and should be applied during soil cultivation and before tassel heading. It is expected to obtain high qualified ear rate and high fresh fruit ear yield.



4. So what does it taste like? It's high in starch, so most people use it to grind it into cornmeal, to make tortillas or polenta. It can also be used to make popcorn (do you like rainbow popcorn?). Plus, rainbow corn is great for decorative purposes.
